Ifat-Abyssinia

It started in 1320 when Ethiopian ruler Amda Seyon sent an envoy with a warning to Mamluk ruler Al-Nasir Muhammad of Egypt to quit persecuting Christian Copts and destroying Coptic churches, or he would retaliate against Muslims. Under his rule he would starve the people of Egypt by diverting the course of the Nile.

As a result of these threats and the dispute between Amda Seyon and Al-Nasir Muhammad the sultan of Ifat Haqq ad-Din initiated definite war of aggression.He invaded the Christian Abyssinia territory in the Amhara kingdom He invaded the Christian Abyssinian territory in the Amhara kingdom, burnt churches and forced apostasy among Christians. He also seized and imprisoned the envoy sent by the Emperor on his way back from Cairo. Haqq ad-Din tried to convert the envoy, killing him when this failed.

The Emperor raided all the the land of Shewa much inhabited by Muslims and other districts of Ifat Sultanate.Historical records of that time show that which ever side wrote the records indicate a series of defeat.

According to the Christian Chronicles the son of the Sultan Haqq ad-Din Dadader Haqq ad-Din who was the leader of the Midra Zega and Menz people which were the Muslims fought the Emperor in The Battle of Marra Biete Dadader forces were able to surround the Emperor Amda Seyon who succeeded and killed the forces and their commander Dadader
