Rehoboam

Was the first king of the Kingdom of Judah he was successor to his father Solomon initially king of the United Monarchy of Israel but after the ten tribes of Israel rebelled 932/31 BC to form the independent Northern Kingdom of Israel under the rule of Jeroboam, Rehoboam became king of Judah or the southern kingdom

He was born abt: 972 BC and died 913 BC his father was Solomon son of David and his mother was Naamah who was the daughter of Lamech in Genesis. That would make her a descendent of Cain. If thats the case then that would make the flood untrue or not as severe as written about because according to the bible only Shem's descendants survived the flood. On another page it says she is daughter of Hanun son of Nahash both Ammonite Kings. She was one of over 700 wives and concubines that King Solomon had she is the only one mentioned in the bible and she was a foreigner an Ammonite

Naamah is mentioned in Bava Kamma 38b Moses had previously been warned by God not to make war upon the Ammonites, Molech worshippers, Naamah was to descend from them.

Rehoboam was 41 years old when he took the throne mid 10th century BC. He took the advice of the younger crowd and decided to show no weakness and tax them even more

Jeroboam and the people rebelled with the ten tribes breaking away and forming a separate Kingdom ,Rehoboam went to war against the new Kingdom of Israel with a force of 180,000 soldiers. However, he was advised against fighting his brethren, and so returned to Jerusalem. The narrative reports that Israel and Judah were in a state of war throughout his 17-year reign

Rehoboam held on to Jerusalem as Judah's capital all through his 17 year reign but he did evil according to the Lord

I Kings 22,24

22 Judah did evil in the eyes of the Lord. By the sins they committed they stirred up his jealous anger more than those who were before them had done. 23 They also set up for themselves high places, sacred stones and Asherah poles on every high hill and under every spreading tree. 24 There were even male shrine prostitutes in the land; the people engaged in all the detestable practices of the nations the Lord had driven out before the Israelites.

King Shishak of Egypt
