The apostle Paul was inspired to say this about Abel: “Through it he, although he died, yet speaks.” (Read Hebrews 11:4.) Through what does Abel speak? Through faith. Abel was the first human ever to develop that sterling quality. So powerfully did he demonstrate faith that his example is alive, a vibrant standard that we can apply today. If we learn from his faith and seek to imitate it, then the record of Abel is speaking to us in a very real and effective way.

Abel’s life was cut short because of Cain’s jealousy and envy. He suffered much like God’s only son, and both Abel and Jesus were “the Good Shepherds.” Christ was the Lamb of God that was slain to take away the sins of the world. Abel was allowed to be slain to show the world our need for a savior. Death made its debut in this story, and God was working out our salvation through it. To ask why does God allow suffering in our world is pointless. All of us are the ones who allow suffering, not God! We are His creation and just like Adam and Eve and their firstborn Cain, we, too neglect our responsibility and deny our sin.

Cain & Abel

Cain chose Evil (sin) which awaits to overtake our soul and devour over us

KJV ISA 9:18

"For wickedness burneth as the fire: it shall devour the briers and thorns, and shall kindle in the thickets of the forest, and they shall mount up like the lifting up of smoke."

Hebrews 11:4

4 By faith Abel brought God a better offering than Cain did. By faith he was commended as righteous, when God spoke well of his offerings. And by faith Abel still speaks, even though he is dead.

1 John 3:11,12

11 For this is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another. 12 Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own actions were evil and his brother's were righteous.
