Man is known to have originated as far back as 300,000 in Ethiopia. The oldest known skeleton is dated to about 196,000 years found in Southern Ethiopia.

Up until 12,000 years ago humans lived in small nomadic groups as Hunters/Gatherers then the Neolithic Period came about.
